I'm waiting with baited breath for the OP in America to get up and log on...

So he's coming back to see what we are saying.

Edit: TMN to TMN (again!)

He's probably not very pleased with the advice he's received and has dismissed us all as danged fools.

If you are genuine, then I echo most of what is said here.

With regard to the references to God, gosh what a bunch of self-righteous judgmental lot you Atheists are. I thought we had the monopoly on that! Read 1 Kings 19:11-13 and a bit of the circumstances around it. Don't listen to the shouty voice in your head at this moment of high emotion. Listen to the quiet gentle ones instead.

I don't get it. You are "in the midst of divorce"? Then I am guessing your marriage is pretty well farked anyway. Grow a set; stick two fingers up to her and go and ride your bike as far as you can away from her.
Just my thoughts, which is what you asked for. I do tend to be a bit emotionally void about these things; life's too short.

Sounds like someone screaming for help (from the USA) and doesn't know where to find it. Perhaps the post does look strange, but if the guy's gone through what he said he's gone through then it's perhaps not surprising that he's written in such and odd style - and mentioning God is so American, isn't it? If the guy's genuine, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, he's probably already given up on this forum. What would be the point of starting a bogus thread like this, anyway? It's not like he's trolling by posting something he knows that everyone will react violently towards.
To the OP - all advice here is good. What the hell ('scuse the blasphemy) do you think you're going to achieve by packing off and going away by yourself? Phone your wife and say you're sorry -and send her some flowers, while you're at it.

There is child to think of?
Allegedly.
Anyhow, escapism does not seem the solution in this (alleged) case.

Oh aye; I wasn't really considering the 3 year old. Then again, neither was the OP when he thought that disappearing for an extended period was a good idea. Which is one of the reasons why I think he should just do it; but stop kidding himself on about the reasons for it.

What makes you think God is particularly interested in saving your marriage??
There have been many "God fearing" people who have suffered terrible hardship. Does this thread suggest God should be more interested in you than in those others that suffer??
As others have said (if this thread is genuine)........stay at home and support your child. Cycling across America will not help.

Dear friend,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
As all good friends I am here to support and comfort you till you come to realisation what a despicable thing you have done.

God has convicted his heart(to stand for her and save his family)
I think this is the OP's way of saying that his wife can't think for herself and make her own judgements, and his way(as sponsored by The Lord) is the best way to put this unit back together the way he(He) wants it. I get this claptrap from family members and friends who have gone evangelical, when I don't follow their wishes.
