Here for rides.
The reasons for the above aren't high-minded. It's just that if I competed, I'd lose. And there's no fun in that.
The point of competing is not to win. Only one person can ever do that.

The point of competing, the fun in it, for those who won't win, is what you learn about yourself whilst taking part.

You don't seem to be able to delete your rides and I can't see anything on the privacy implications yet. Are other users able to see your rides and from that discover your home location?

Downloaded the app (iPhone). It took two attempts to get it installed. Tried it today on club run. Paused it at cafe and remembered to restart it. Stopped it at home. It asked me if I wanted to use some boosters but as I have no idea what they are I clicked no. The app crashed (twice) when asking me to save the ride.

I then went online and the experience was equally poor. I got a score (for something unknown) and some blocks on the map get intermittently shaded depending on zoom level. Some of the blocks are not on my ride and the colours were not explained in any clear way. I am not sure what the app/website is telling me ...or even if I want to know. Also it has recorded my ride twice for some reason - once being half the ride and the other being the full ride.

It's all rather flaky, slow and poorly explained. I will try it again but TBH I cant see it remaining on my phone for very long.

I like the idea of world domination but feel that this is not my best route to ultimate power.

Ive tried it a few times now and I also have blocks on a map and I once saw there where other riders on the map but they have disappeared . Maybe I have taken them all out with my riding ? I think its a bit crap to be honest and things not quite working properly doesn't help matters .

The web display is very confusing. When you zoom it takes ages and seems to change each time. It needs work. Crap is the polite way of describing it.
Yes , I get that . You zoom out to take a look at the map and it zooms in with big blocks . Ive been trying to trick it with the slider on the zoom and that seems to work now and then .

I was going to try it out today, but decided to delete it instead. Wasn't inspired by the App at all.
You haven't missed much. I think there might be a good idea in there somewhere but the implementation is so poor that for me it's currently unusable.

Totally agree. I saw it on Teitter and though, that sounds good, then got the App and thought otherwise.

Agreed. I didn't have any install problems with it and on the three rides I've tried it on it seemed to work ok. Sure I read somewhere on the website its at 'open beta', whatever that means, and it doesn't feel finished.
I wouldn't bother with it out on a longer ride on the road bike (endomondo or Strava) and how would it work for conquering lands if 2 or more people were using it on the same club ride?
I would out on the shopping bike as I don't bother tracking going to Morrisons or into the town, which is where I think the gaming element would work. It actually feels like a cycling version of Ingress, (and thats a battery guzzler too). Shame as I actually wanted to like it.
