Don't borrow your dad's fancy racer without him knowing, you might go over the handlebars and rip his bar tape.

I'm going back about 25 years but he's never quite forgiven me.

I hear you Andrew. Dad's bike was set up to accommodate, his style so every time I borrowed/stole it the back wheel would stick to the chain stay or .....
So
Best not to borrow your dads bike.

Or something I've recently started doing... braking and pedalling at the same time, its so counterproductive

I've done this a few times lately. Mostly its to change gear coming up to the roundabout so it's easier to set off, but occasionally I do it for no apparent reason

Also, don't try cycling whilst carrying an empty cardboard box, I didn't try this, its near impossible to even carry one whilst pushing a bike, as I found out yesterday. I need empty boxes for packing, so I asked at the local shop, forgetting I was on my bike, luckily its not far away, I even considered putting it on my head

I keep accidentally doing small stoppies when I brake, and wheelies when I set off again.

Too much inertia & too much momentum, I think.
