No not really vickster, I suppose I should learn how to stretch more, think it's the case of a 25 year olds mind been stuck in a nearly 50 year old body, it's not quite as bad today, but will watch what I do in future. Thanks vickster

Regards

Tony.

Also, if you have hip pain, check it's not caused by rocking on a too high saddle

Has this been anyone else's worst winter for colds?

Mine keep reoccurring what seems like every few weeks
last year , I cant remember having one of any note
if it wasn't for everyone else I know having similar -my hypochondria would be working overtime ...

PS - rest - it has made me worse generally & now gone to my chest

Certainly bad round here Craig. I've not been right for weeks  started with cold symptoms about 3 weeks ago, then a sickness bug, brief respite over Christmas, but cold symptoms with an annoying cough now. I'm still out on the bike though, I aim to get out every day for a ride this year, so just been out out for short steady rides, only totaling about 50 miles in 4 days
Tesco in Hull & Hornsea both seem to be almost out of cold & cough remedies, so guessing loads are suffering

Started with a cold a couple of days ago. I always feel really lethargic in the first few days. Surely this is my body telling me to just rest up while it's Lymphocytes and Phagocytes go to work (thanks for this from son studying GCSE biology). I guess a gentle spin wouldn't hurt but stressing the body with a hard ride would inhibit recovery.

Going for a walk later with a "cold air will kill off the bugs" type mentality

There have been some really horrible virusy bugs around this year - I would rest if you have a feeling of lethargy/fluey aches/anything chesty. I didn't at the beginning of October - went out on a hilly ride a few days after my seeming recovery from the actual head cold - didn't regain my true health for at least a month. I know several people who've said the same. It really isn't worth it!
