I have been know to commit that sin .... (but only in the confines of my own house when I am trying to wear in a new pair if I find they are rubbing a little!!!)

I got grief the other day for wearing socks with my Shimano sandals the other day. They're extremely comfortable on the bike and when it's a bit cool, a pair of socks underneath is still preferable to shoes. I have even seen Sealskin waterproof socks recommended for wet day sub-sandal duties by seasoned touring cyclists. If they're comfortable on the bike they're just as acceptable as lycra butt sporters. So there!

Whilst I appreciate the depth of disapprobation for my sandal wearing, I feel I must point out that I have never worn white socks but I believe Nicky has, nay not worn, flaunted.

Sandal wearing is perfectly acceptable. Wearing any sort of sock of any colour however, in conjunction with said sandal, is not.
