Yep looks a size too small to me too. You could do with the seatpost higher and you could try a longer stem if you have to make the bike work for you.

You need to sort everything really, if one thing is out, something else will be too (PT = Personal Trainer? or Physiotherapist, if former, qualified to do full biomechanical assessment?)

Your arms look very straight? Is the bike too small? And low at front? Try an angled stem?
See above for my height and I went for the medium frame!!!

My initial thought is that the bike looks a little small for you.
You sort of look cramped up on it.

I'm by no means an expert though!

What height are you and what size frame is it?
See above - thanks - better hope I can get a new bike soon!!!

There might be things you can do to make it work for you.

As Grant Fondo said, maybe raising the saddle height and reversing stem would help.

According to the ribble site you basically straddle the medium and the large sizes.
The ribble site guide says:
Medium: 5'7" - 5'10"
Large: 5'10 - 6'1"

If I was 5'10" I would have picked the medium too.

You can compare the numbers between the medium and large below...

Medium top tube is only 20mm (2cm) shorter than large so maybe a longer stem would give you the extra reach the large would have.

This may be all it needs (but again....I'm by no means an expert. Others will know more than me.

Would just be a shame if you couldn't make it work for you!

Also, although it does look slightly too small, it can be hard to tell 100% from a photo.

Don't hastily get rid.
Maybe some little tweaks is all it needs to get rid of the pain you mentioned.

Try some free tweaks first - raise saddle height sightly, raise handlebars if possible?

Those are kind words as I was feeling a bit down but if you’d have gone medium too, that is at least 2 of us!!!
I know a good bike mechanic, so I can ask him re the stem business.
Be great to get it better.

Why can't Ribble put the bleedin frame size up!! Medium=56cm? At 5ft 10ins that should have worked. I'm 6ft 3 and ride 58cm so Large size, but you look way too big for that medium. Slightly confused here.

I mean I did ask them and they said if on border go for medium - I am at best 5 10 and one half! You’ll see Raggydoll feeling the medium was the right choice so I could possibly just be a physical freak?!

5-10 is nearly always a medium from experience . You can get that bike to fit . Bike fit is what you need , guarantee its worth it

How long are your legs to torso?
I’m 5’9.5 but long legged so I would have medium too but with a 55cm TT I might need a shorter stem
