Get better tyres and carry tube/pump to replace roadside.Just had my 3rd pinch puncture in 6 months due to the dire state of the highways. Had to walk nearly 4 miles home.
Feeling really pissed about it.

Using Conti Ultra Gatorskin @110psi.That seems an awful lot. Sorry to ask, but your tyres are pumped up enough right?
Halfords have 5 tubes for a tenner right now (£9 if a BC member)Using Conti Ultra Gatorskin @110psi.
I'll see if I can get a pic of the road surface in the next day or two but it tyres can only put up with so much. Haven't got a spare tube or patches so won't be on the bike tomorrow.

Badly prepared. Why haven't you got spare tube and/or patches?

Was cycling down the A1055 Meridian Way. Got to lights at the junction with Ardra Way. There was a queue of cars that that had just started moving. Looking I was OK to go up the inside. Just after the lights doing maybe 15mph the road surface just seems to disintegrate. I couldn't move right as there were cars or left so as to miss the poor road surface so hit the brakes but too late. Nearly came a cropper here 2 years ago as the handle bars nearlly got ripped from my hands so am normally rather careful but they fixed it up around 6 months ago. Haven't been this way since November last year.Either that or you hit a pothole so huge that you really ought not to have missed it.
Those are decent tyres, unlucky to get a lot of punctures with those! Don't worry about not taking spares, many of us have been there. The one time you think you'll get away without it, you always get a puncture! Just try and get at least one inner tube or a few good patches, a couple of tyre levers and a pump to bring along next time and you're sortedJust had my 3rd pinch puncture in 6 months due to the dire state of the highways.
