Regarding the Columbo programme, when does Columbo read out their Miranda rights about their rights to remain silent and to contact a lawyer? Is it that Columbo is pretending to question him as a witness? At what point does he inform him he is a suspect? Is what the baddie previously told him admissible as evidence? Was there ever an episode when the culprit asked Columbo whether he was a suspect (which obviously he would be) and then politely inform him he was taking the Fifth Amendment.

I have them all on DVD somewhere (a huge box set that I got cheap somewhere. It runs from the pilot which was about 1965ish (I think) and goes up until the '90s'), so I'll have to have a Columbo Marathon some time and get back to you! 😂
