I am rather excited about the wedding, well not the wedding itself as such - But the fact they've declared it a bank holiday..
So now I can get a little gished on my birthday knowing I will not have to get up at silly 'o'clock for work the next day, we will then be attending the bbq/party on Beach Green, but my bubs think the party is just for me LOL!!

So thnak you Will & Kate I will really appreciate the lie-in x

I am less enamoured by that as I lose two days pay in an already sparse month for paid working days. I only have four paid days this month of the seven I have to be in for. Not such a good month for me.

No.
Having clicked on the link to Lidl on the first page of this thread I think I will have to call in next time I'm passing, that Henry Goodes Soft Eating Liquorice looks delicious.

Barnet,
No. Myself and MrsP will either be out on the bikes, or walking across the fields to a pub for lunch, carefully avoiding any TV's and/or radios. I really feel that with all the media hype, we, the general population are being forced or coerced into watching.

I'll be touring - the royal wedding has meant that I can get 10 days straight leave when only booking 3 days off. There wasn't much chance of me hanging around to watch TV! Also I have bad memories of being forced by my parents to watch the charles and diana wedding, wearing red, white and blue. I couldn't have given a t*ss then and I really don't care now. As far as I am concerned the royal family are a bunch of dysfunctional inbreds who should have had a social work intervention years ago. But I hope that the happy couple remain happy of course.

Definitely will be not watching that. Then again I hardly watch tv anyway and I really could not care less about this. They seem like a nice enough couple though, I am just not interested. The day off work is great though.

I'm lucky! Compulsory working day for all here and not even a day off in lieu.

Awww some employers are all heart.

Still, it does save me from the media display.

I have nothing against the couple and wish them all the best and am glad to have a day off but unfortunately I won't be able to watch this compulsive TV viewing as I need to service my Bic biro.

Apparently (and I have this on excellent authority: the Local Authority) in York, nine street party applications have been granted. Not in a street near me, however.

I seem to remember reading somewhere else that the same number had been granted in Birmingham, so being a bit smaller, Well Done York, royally speaking.

Of course it may be that everyone else has listed to our Great and Glorious Leader who exorted us to defy and disregard our local governors and hold unauthorised street parties. He does however have a family interest in the matter:

David Cameron is the 5th cousin, twice removed of Queen Elizabeth II, but illegitimate lines have no claim to the throne.
