Sounds about right.

Despite what Cumbria Tourism say, cyclists are not known to be big spenders - quite the reverse.

I also doubt there are enough cyclists staying overnight to support a business.

My view is you need to offer an attractive place to stay for everyone, the cycling facilities being an additional part of that offer.

Another likely market is walkers.

Targeting them would be relatively straightforward because a lot of your cycling facilities will also be attractive to walkers.

Definitely more walkers than cyclists in the lakes.
Agree. A lot of those roads would worry me if cycling on them.
Enjoyed many good walking holidays up there. A major plus for us, after a good walk, was a nearby pub with decent beers and food at a sensible price

Only a leisurely 130 miles or so from Glasgow.
Doable !
