Good start to the singles by Europe

Them's the rules, and they would apply equally to both sides.

Golf is supposed to be a game where people respect the rules and fairness, and there's a lot more unfairness in the crowd barracking the European players as they stand over the ball.

Suppose it's meant to avoid a team being penalised for a genuine injury. Plus it gives the other captain the opportunity to have their weakest player sit it out (although I'm not convinced that English has been their weakest player at all)

I read that he had volunteered to put his name in the envelope in order to give others a better chance.
Doesn't seem right to me but that's what the article said.

Big swing happening now.
4 reds on the board and Europe have now only got 2 blue showing.

I seem to remember the Yanks had a good spell for a while on the Sunday in Rome when it suddenly looked a bit tight. We got through it and won pretty easily in the end. Hopefully same again today.

It’s calmed down slightly. McIlroy just holed an almighty putt

Amazing how much better the Yanks are when they play for themselves rather than having to be a team
