I came off my bike the other day on some pesky leaves hiding a takeaway box and managed to rip my saddle. It’s the saddle that came with the bike so I’m not too fussed.
What I want to know is can anyone recommend some saddles to me? I don’t have a clue what to look for. All I know is I want it white and around the £30 price mark. I’ve ridden on the one that came with my bike for 3 years and it never gave me any problems.

A very personal thing, but the Charge Spoon gets a good write-up. I have two of the leather and titanium ones, and one plastic. The plastic weighs 20g more in theory - reality is one of my leather ones weighs MORE.

I am not one for a super skinny race saddle, but these look the part and suit me. Excellent reviews generally eg here http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-spoon-saddle-with-cromo-rails-2011/ 435 of 453 would recommend to a friend

I have a Charge Spoon I have done a few century rides on it with no discomfort. The Madison Flux is the same saddle and sometimes is cheaper. Unfortunately though only you will know if it suits and that will be when you have tried it.

I was just about to start a new topic on saddles when I spotted this and I hope you dont mind me adding to this topic

I have the specialized Riva Road saddle that came with the Allez

I'm having some real trouble getting comfortable and suffering with a pain right up on the inner thigh/crotch,but only one one side.

Tried everything I know, pushing the saddle back and forward in small adjustments and also the scientific 109% method of for saddle height.

So now I'm going to change the saddle and see if that makes any difference.

Narrowed my choice down to these and appreciate opinions, which would also help the OP as well
  • Charge Spoon - seems to be popular
  • Selle Italia Prolink
  • Selle SMP TRK

From reviews the charge spoon seems quite good, and you can't complain for £20. Think I'm going to try that.

It's the same price as Wiggle - £19.99  I was typing in the dark - £20 was easier to type

Wiggle have it in white with orange, Tredz don't specifiy if they have the white with orange or white with red
