Salad cream or mayonnaise?

There can be only one condiment hereinafter. Which is it to be?

Silly question. They have very different tastes and as such, have different uses.

Garlic, lemon & parmesan here. Either way, it needs to be punchy.

Although if I'm making a mayo-based dressing, I do tend to add some 18% soured cream to it (the Polish stuff as it's the best IMHO) just to make things a little less, well, naughty. Gives it a nice tang as well.

Oi get your own thread if you're going to be all gour-may!

I like both, but I can live without mayo. There is half a jar in the fridge which has been there since Xmas, so we don't exactly devour mayo in our house.
Whilst I am not a particular fan of salads, they are a necessary evil if I am to get weight back off, after a recent holiday. And low fat salad cream makes them a bit more palatable. So salad cream would have to be my choice. A bit reluctantly.......

Bloody hell, you make your own? I bet you use that artisan partisan in there too ^_^
When I started my training in the hotel industry in 1969, any hotel / restaurant worth it's salt would be expected to make it's own mayonnaise.
No shop / manufacturer supplied rubbish back then - ! :okay:

Nonsense, it were widely thought to be only fit for the French and lah-dee-dahs with ideas above their station back then. Making mayonnaise indeed, next you'll be telling us that you used that there garlic.
