Schwalbe one tyres.

Hi to everyone new member looking for advice.

Took tyres off my bike and had real difficulty getting them back on they were so tight my thumbs were sore!
Schwalbe tyres on syncross wheels.
What am I doing wrong?

Not using tyre levers? Granted I've not got the strongest hands but I don't think I've ever removed / refitted a tyre without levers..

Yes I was using tyre levers but the tyres were so tight.

Talc might help, but some wheel and tyre combos are just a bugger unfortunately!! So you are quite possibly not doing anything 'wrong'!

Maybe just the rim/tyre combination. I have put a few pairs of Schwalbe Ones on just with my thumbs.

EDIT: Seeing the photos, these aren't the same tyres I have. There are quite a few variations with very similar names!

Maybe just the rim/tyre combination.

+1. If the tyres and rims are both at the maximum tolerance then they will be difficult to fit. If the tyres pop off in one place when you push them on in another then tie them down.

Some resort to using zip ties to hold as you move along.

If you have the 'tubeless ready' Schwalbe Ones then they need to be tight to seal properly. You just need patience, perserverance (and decent tyre levers).

I had the G-One Speed off mine to fix a puncture, it was a bit tight to get back on, the last 10 cm’s or so and had to use the lever, I think they are tubeless ready though

I think they are probably tubless ready because its a new bike only 3 months old and really well sealed over the bed of the wheel.

I was surprised that I needed the tyre lever, usually the wider the tyre, the easier it goes on, mine are 700x30 too
