Schwalbe ultremo zx tyres

Make that over 3000 miles for the pair I have on my Spesh and with only 2 punctures in all that time. One due to a pothole... that ain't bad.

Thank god someone has something good to say! They were going to be my next tyre but this thread was putting me off slightly - especially the 'bin after 700 miles' - I was hoping to get nearer 4k in a tyres lifetime!

I think he meant the rubinos not the ultremos, dont get me wrong the ultremos roll great and offer decent punture protection but are Imo not suited to the type of road surfaces that are in my area.

Just swapped my
Krylions for the Ultremo's just for the bling and about 1000 miles.
I shall return to them should I wear the Ultremo's out

Nothing wrong with the Ultremo's, they are a light weight tyre so you need to look at what your riding on.

so Victoria Rubino Pro or Krylions are they equally good then?

By the way I just added up the mileage on my Ultremos and did just under 400m and the rear is in poor condition

In all fairness they are race tires, designed for optimum performance at the sacrifice of service life. Although saying that, it does sound like OP's tires were faulty!

I'm more partial to training tires myself. Lower TPI meaning less performance (supposedly) but better puncture resistance and longer service life.

Vittoria Rubino's have been very good for me so far. I've put about 200 miles on them and the center marking from the mold is yet to wear off. Grip has been good for me in all conditions, and no punctures as of yet.

Oh, and at £12 to £15 a tire they're not bad value for money either.

Speaking as one not looking for my tyres to help with times etc, I've found the Vittorias excellent value....I did see them somewhere for £9 !

I can only compare the wired Rubinos and the Krylions but the Krylions are far superior especially in terms of grip.

I've used Ultremo's. Light and quick, but they seemed to cut up really quickly.
I guess they're not ideal as a day to day tyre, but certainly have their benefits.
I've changed to GP4000S so will see how they run

I rate my krylions. Cant tell much difference feom them to pro race 4s service course. I will be sticking with krylions from now on, or the pro race 4 endurance that replaced them.
