I was recently given a bottle of 12 year old Loch Lomond. TBH I had never heard of it and with that name thought it would be a 'mickey take'.....WOW it is so nice. It has a slight peaty taste and generally I dont go for the peat ones but its only slight and I can really taste the other flavours.
For a decent cheap malt the Aldi ones at £17.95 are excellent.

Aldi's Glen Marnoch is passable - not as cheap as it used to be though

It was £9.99 when I first started drinking it

As was Penderyn - try getting that cheaply now

I've opened this one. I wouldn't normally get one as expensive as this (retails for about £90) but I cashed in some air miles so it was free
Tbh it was good. But the Aldi champagne cognac I had at Xmas (sadly now discontinued) was better and less than half the price
