Scottish independence - how *would* you vote (if you can't)?

T'other thread's interesting, and this is not meant to be a substitute, just a complement.

A lot of us non-Scots feel a bit left out, and it's not like we're not involved - we're talking about the breakup of 'our' country after all.

So, a poll for sassenachs - how would you vote if you had a vote? (And if you do have a vote, stick to your own poll, what?)

From my perspective Scotland's not our country, it belongs to the Scots and it is for them and the others that live there to determine how they want to be ruled. So I'm glad folk in other parts of these islands don't get a say.

The British Empire fought a war 100 years ago which at least, in part, was about the rights of small nations to self-determination. We, in the rest of the UK, don't seem to have moved on much if we can't let the Scots go their own way, if that is what they choose, and be happy for them to do so. Like grown-up children leaving the parental home it feels like the need for permanent Union is over.

But you've afforded me the ability to vote here on the issue; so I vote yes.

Personally, I would vote yes - but that is because I want to see what happens - if my vote actually mattered, I might think a bit harder about it

I see no good reason why the Scots shouldn't become independent and make their own decisions, which directly affect their lives, livelihoods and futures, without interference from Westminster.

Selfishly, no - I like Scotland being a part of the UK.

Were I eligible (by virtue of being there) I'd vote Yes.

If Scotland get independence I will be interested to see what happens. I reckon they crumble very quickly and will never been in as good of a postion as the currently are.

The blood that runs through my veins is pure undiluted Scottish, certainly not a sassenach (perish the thought ) but feel very much left out due to my choice to move to the North of England 12 years ago.

I have always answered 'British' when asked what nationality I am, after all that's what my passport states. What would I vote if I had the chance? I really and truly do not know however I do find myself getting annoying by news services,such as the BBC themselves , that are unable to report in a neutral manner and this is likely to drive the undecided voter into ticking the 'yes' box.
