Seat post question

So with some difficulty I removed my carbon seatpost. Wanting to give it a bit of TLC so what grease do I need for it before putting it back in and is it just a thin smear on both surfaces... post and seat tube or do you need to put more on one than the other? Cheers for any advice offered.

Carbon assembly paste is the thing to use, just a thin smear on the post.
