I once changed saddles - an LBS fitted the new saddle (as they were also doing other work) and they measured the location of the old saddle and matched it with the new one. Within 10 miles I had a niggling knee pain and after 20 miles my knee was done and I was off the bike for three months with tendonitis. I lowered the saddle by about 5mm and it solved it. I was amazed that such a small difference could make such a large difference.
I feel a complete numpty, I forgot about swapping saddles 2 weeks ago. As the bike is new I have been trying different things to see which I prefer and completely forgot I took my specialised power off. I know I had no knee pain before this but sometimes it felt a bit uncomfortable so thought I’d try the fabric scoop that came with the bike as I know a lot of people like these.
will swap my saddles back over and test.
I did manage another 30miles today and I did feel a bit better after moving the cleats back a bit, maybe about a 2 out of 10 for pain so nothing sore just could feel something not 100% although I did take 15mins off my loop so can’t be too bad
