LBS verdict.

1-Worn chain. It was measured. V disappointed with this as it was a genuine Shimano one, just gone through my training log since I got the bike and had done 1897 miles, all dry miles and cleaned and dry lubed regularly.

2-Chain too short by 2 links, causing too much tension in the drivechain and unpredictable movement under the excessive tension. A thing some manufacturers do, apparently. LBS a Giant dealer and Giant do this.

3-Incorrect front mech adjustment. Not helping the whole situation.

Firmware checked and all fine, no update necessary.

Road tested and all good. Bring on summer.

Excellent. Good to see what the problems are. I use KMC chains. Shimano ones, IME, are not that good in terms of life vs KMC. Even though KMC possibly make them.
