I have a question relating to something weird. From my understanding, modern Shimano derailleurs are supposed to work with modern STI levers for very new road bikes, but for some reason mine is working with vintage road bike levers that say CHARGER on them. The only info I can find on the levers for the life of me is that they're made in Tawain. Does anyone know why it's working with my vintage levers? Oh yeah they're friction levers as pointed out to me yesterday.

The Tourney rear derailleur will work fine with anything up to 8 speed. That's why.

No. I just thought I read somewhere that Shimano Tourney and other Shimano derailleurs only work with STI levers.
Nah, I've got a 10 speed 105 that works fine on a 6 speed freewheel with friction shifters,

The crank is 105 10 speed too.
