Shorts question (warning: contains some *ick* content)

I'm in the market for new shorts, the basic Halfords jobbies I've had for a couple of years just don't seem to have enough in the padding department for my tired old undercarriage (and yes, I know rule # 5 applies).

There is another thing, though, and I really can't sugar coat this, so here goes... when I look down whilst wearing said shorts, there often appears to be a degree of "stubble" popping through the fabric. So much so, in fact, that I'm still wearing my tights to ride to work to avoid any embarrassing lift encounters.

As I'm not about to reach for the Veet Hair Removal Cream for Men, can anyone recommend a pair that won't let anything pop through the fabric?

Howies' leadout shorts have, this review says (http://road.cc/content/review/85943-howies-leadout-bibshorts) slightly thicker than the norm fabric, if the thinness of your current shorts is the problem...

I get that hairy lycra look with my Hoy bibs, but Morvelo seem to be a more dense weave (or something).

Just shave.
