If you're going to get a coconut you should buy the young green ones like this. Easy to get into with a large heavy knife. The water is clear. Sold on the streets here from wheel barrows for a about two quid each.

I paid 40p a coconut, chilled for the water/milk, then halved so I get the flesh, too. Had one every day over the winter in India : love 'em.

If you saw the shell in half carefully you can make two bird feeders.
Alternatively, you could close your eyes, imagine you are on a horse, then holding a half coconut shell in the palm of each hand tap them on your table top in time with this fine tune.............

With supermarket coconuts you don't know how old they are, so IME the milk can taste foul. Much tastier fresh off the tree, (but considerably more expensive to get to the tree).

Sorry, got the conversion wrong! Its 2 CEDI's which is 33p!
