Is it just me or does it look like the manufacturer's photo is of a touring bike set up for an "aggressive" racing riding position with the saddle too high in relation to the handlebars? My stem is a lot shorter than the original but then again, the reach to the hoods on my replacement handlebar is a lot longer than the supplied "compact" bar.

I doubt the bars would go very much higher on the factory Jamis photo, rather what strikes me is there's a lot of seatpost sticking out which in my book says the rider should get a bigger frame!
 
Cannot find a pic of the Scott AFD Expert I ride most, no idea even when it was made, early 2000s I think.
However, my dear departed Trek 800 Sport looked like this. Bought in 2001, 2002 model year paint scheme.
