I like steel bikes and I cannot lie..

Gunk, my legs ached that night. Drove me mad if I’m honest but the next day they were ok.

Wafter, I have been building the mileage on the bike up prior to that ride. I don’t think Brompton are any harder to ride just a few mph slower average speed for the same effort but they are definitely more fun than a normal bike. I think it’s more a case of getting your backside used to that many hours on a saddle….

Dunno; I guess if you keep the speed down the drag is less of an issue but you're quite upright (so probably harder on the arse) and I imagine the twitchyness is more fatiguing than riding a nice tourer.. which would also give you more hand positions.

I think they punch above their weight in terms of ride quality considering the compromises in their design; however... still a great effort :smile:
