What's with the rear derailleur position, looks a little weird!

Chain is on the granny ring(triple chainset)hence the position off the rear mech

Cross rip elite... 2013 with grass tires...

I am looking to ad another kind of fenders...(ok mudguards) Since this one are not cutting it here in Belfast... I still get mud in my back and the frame is all dirty..

Thanks Chris Just finished restoring the Carlton, here is the before and after pics, now it's done I just want to ride it all the time, so for now My Boardman Race is firmly relegated to the bench.
My thighs can tell the difference
