nope. if the light was green when you entered the ASL box
See highway code. As a driver, you should not enter that box, unless the exit is clear.

Not always illegal, not always irresponsible and often safer than waiting at the stop line for a phoney driver to run you over.I don't jump red lights when I cycle or drive.
It's illegal, irresponsible and dangerous.
They don't need ammo, or any basis in reality, to keep on their hate campaign against less-polluting transport. Also if a cyclist does it it just gives further ammunition to the anti cycling crowd who label all as red light jumpers anyway.
As a rural cyclist and have absolutely no concerns about ignoring red lights where I think it pragmatic.
Traffic lights on bridges and junctions etc I'll comply with, but if there is a half mile stretch of cones, and the road inside the cones rideable, then there I go. I'll even hop off and push the bike along a footpath if it suits me.
A terrible attitude I know...

if the light was green when you entered the ASL box, passed the first line, its perfectly permitted for you to stop in the box then because of queuing traffic, or oncoming traffic preventing you from making progress to an exit, this is not a box junction. And if the light goes red whilst you are sat in the box, you havent jumped a red light and are allowed, in fact encouraged to stay put till the next phase.

This though an example of temporary lights in a quiet rural area as opposed to permanent red lights in a city. Yes by law the same rules applies but I agree a modicum of common sense can be applied.
‘Common sense’ and ‘law’ are two different things.
Common sense would say empty roads at 3am means the red light can be negotiated with caution.
Law says to do so would be a crime.
