Hello guys,
I'm looking at changing my Specialized Crosstrail elite to single chain ring.
Never use the granny ring and I like the simplicity of single.
To be able to keep my chainring at 44T, Maybe even increase it slightly, with a narrow wide chainring, It looks like i'll have to use a Road crankset rather than an MTB crankset. Narrow wide chain rings on MTB set up only go to about 36T.
I have 68mm BB shell. But with spacers, on the current set-up it's 73mm.
My concern is, I need to use a 68mm BB for the spindle length on the road crank. Will I get clearance on the chainstays? Chainline issues!!
Has anyone ever done this on a Hybrid?
Hope this all makes sense.

Done this on two of my bikes. One with a 40T n/w and one with a 50T n/w chain ring. Cranksets (square taper) basic 110 BCD's.
