Looking to get myself a single speed for casual use. Any suggestions?

Define casual use.

Mudguards, or an ass saver?Does that mean to the pub or commute?

Are you thinking of disc brakes?

Do any of the following float your boat?

Specialised Langster
Fuji Feather
Genesis Flyer

I like the look of older Langsters, but I'd probably go with something with a disk brake myself. Though, my fixie doesn't have/need them.

Pick an old steelie up re dish the rear wheel remove both mechanism's and hey presto one single speed bike

Very nice indeed, a smidge too small for me, but I think about it now and then. You don't see an awful lot of their stuff on gumtree and ebay because I think people generally are fond of them.

What @biggs682 suggests, you should do at all costs before buying a non-brand Argos or Amazon deal on a single speed. It will invariably be lighter, more attractive, and a friend for life.
