the snorting worked great, got the mucus moving. sinutab helped as well. the green dry mucus is gross and still coming out, tastes weird as well.

If it tastes nasty and is green, you probably have an infection - is it only dry or wet, thick and sticky too xx(...go to the doctor as it has been going on a while...don't want the acute condition to become chronic

Good luck

In between here and there
Well my Doc gave me allergy pills and a steriod spray on the basis that my nose is not gunky and that when it does run when on the bike it is clear = no infection.

4 days in and it has made it a lot worse and even more pain, and cannot get an appointment until wait for it next Friday!

I've got this ATM.
Tends to get worse mid afternoon?
Very odd just taken paracetamol to date.
Might have to try something local to try and get to the root of it?

When I get nasal blockage, from colds, I don't blow my nose, I find it creates discomfort and never seems to help.

I use Albos oil or Vicks Vapour on a tissue, stuffed just inside my shirt neck. It opens out the passages and for me seems to clear any problems. I've been using this method for around 5 years

In serious cases experienced once after flu many years ago, I had to take antibiotics because of bacterial infection. That worked, sorted with 5 day course

I suffer with Allergic rhinitis. Have had an irritating post nasal cough for years. I learn to live with sinus pain sadly. Antihistamies and nasal irrigation with salt water helps. I also can't drink cheap wine.....

I've had it quite badly three times in the past and the treatment I got depended on which GP I saw. First time saw a young locum who gave me anti-biotics which almost cleared it up.

Second time was a grizzled old guy who just told me to 'man-up' and manage it by doing useless breathing exercises and rinsing with salt water (which helped somewhat), although didn't help to cure it. It eventually came back and got so bad that I was having dizzy spells and almost had an accident driving home from work one night, so went back to the GP. Luckily I saw the young locum again and she got me an appointment with an ENT consultant who said it was really bad and gave me an extended course of anti-biotics, which eventually cleared it up.

I remember it was very painful and me feel very tired and unwell, I use to get really cross when I heard people say 'oh, it's only sinusitus, it's just a bad cold really' as it was very debillitating for me and was part of the reason I gave up work as I couldn't trust myself commuting.

These days I get occasional light bouts (alcohol sometimes seems to bring it on for some reason!) and find that Sudafed helps a lot, or Olbas oil is pretty good too.
