This is standard practice IME, in fact I had to go through the wringer of being passed from department to department, with each one asking why I was cancelling until finally I got put through to the cancellation department.

Sadly though, even if I'd wanted to stay on just to use up any free offer after I'd been cut off 4 times by the cancellation department I was at the end of my tether and ready to commit a heinous crime!!!, so there wasn't a thing they could have offered me to stay with them a minute longer.

I'm sure others have a better customer service experience with Sky, sadly for them I don't anyone personally who has and would never recommend them now!

About 6 years ago I bought a DVD Recorder with Harddisk. Since then I've never felt the need to upgrade Sky+, even when they were giving installation free and other bits and pieces.

I record what I like and if there is something that I really want to keep then I put it on a DVD. I think for us this is the best way. Even the videos of the camcorder get stored there and put on DVD later on.

We can use it as pause TV as well.

Am I right in thinking your finishing your subscription with Sky and are then moaning that they will not let you watch their programs that you downloaded on your box ...
I have had Sky for 20 years and never had an issue yet
