There are many things you can label Bond with, being a cgi fest isn't one of them.
well, I admit seeing only 50% or so of the movie, so maybe I got the wrong impression but surely you agree that the ascent underneath the elevator carriage and train top chase scenes were cgis. Expertly made done but not very creative in the former use of the word. As for the acting....

@gbs - harsh words  Go and see 'Untouchable'

Indeed harsh. That is how I felt after struggling through Kensington traffic, paying for drinks at the pub before, 3 premier seats. £50 or so.

As for "untouchable": brilliantly acted and directed and v moving. The odd thing is that, one month later, I do not remember many of the scenes just the visceral impact.

PS: I may turn up at HPC on sunday. What is likely to be on? Hills of flat? I will want to be home for lunch.

Of course there is CGI in it, but far less then on most modern action movies. From What I've read most of the train sequence wasn't cgi.

quote from Stunt coordinator:
While stunt coordinator Powell appreciates the advance in digital technology and computer graphics, he prefers the action to be real. “All of us, Sam and Gary especially, felt that we need to push this movie as far as we could. And we’ve always relied on the fact that we do things for real in Bond movies, and that’s just the way it is. If it’s CGI, it’s just to help out, as opposed to creating the scene. Standing on top of a train, travelling at 50 kilometers per hour, fighting with Ola Rapace going over a bridge was probably a stand out moment.”

Agreed. (And I never expected the ending...)
OT. Sunday's ride is without ambition. A commute without going to work, neither specifically up, nor down - just along and exciting (for me) in (normally) very good company...who attend to their respective dinnertimes accordingly. (I have a family thing happening too...but I'm notoriously unpunctual!)
