Has anyone heard of Slingbox. Its something to do with sending on digital signals so that you can watch cable TV etc from other rooms and also if hooked upto a wireless router anywhere on the globe.

Does anyone know if its legal to hook one of these up to sky tv and then send that signal to someone living in another country??

Can't see it myself but I've been told its ok to do

Not sure of the legality, but I wouldn't let that stop you. Why does the router need to be wireless? Surely much better in this context to use wired ethernet. Bear in mind that it will probably eat bandwidth like a... very hungry bandwidthovore.

Many people on sky use them. The question is, is there much point? You can pick up many of the channels on the sky platform through a fta system with a larger satellite as far away as the middle east. Depending on global position and what channels they are fairly pointless or useful. Pricey though.
