On the big ring, chain slips as soon as under load. On the small ring, not at all! Any ideas why and also how to remedy would be very much appreciated.

Maybe your big chainring is worn, and the small ring isn't.

I was right about that saddle
If the teeth of the ring look like sharks fins

Then its likely the chain ring. A chain replacement might also be imminent.

I love trying to be helpful with suggestions and then having them dismissed. WRONG

It could any or all three parts of the setup, the cassette and the chain and the front chain ring. WRONG

The owner thinks the big ring is jumping, and I've had this before but you never really know where the jumping is taking place but sometimes it can be obvious. WRONG

It could even be a bad single stiff chainlink for all we know. YOU ARE WRONG

I am just offering suggestions and asking for clarification. WRONG AGAIN.

I've edited my own post to save others the trouble. RIGHT

Stop feeling sorry for yourself and don't make suggestions as if from a position of authority if you are not in such a position.

Your earlier suggestion was misleading.
