One shot is almost guaranteed to solve the problem but it is remarkably dangerous stuff if used inappropriately, sulphuric acid being it's main constituent.
We use it at work modestly regularly and it's never failed to clear drain (usually urinals tbf)

If you do, rubber gloves, preferably marigolds length, no bare arms or legs in case it splashes, safety glasses and a great great deal of care.
You can't use in on stainless, it will discolour it permanently.
It will 'boil' up slightly as you pour it in, and gas off so plenty of ventilation...some folk have died because they didn't take that precaution apparently.
Let it do it's thing then flush the drain and beware, it will often 'boil again as you do that.

But, it is almost guaranteed to solve the problem...if you're some would say foolhardy...id say careful, enough.

I once had a salesman trying to sell me his drain cleaning gunk for a theatre I was managing. I wasn't interested so he left, only to return an hour later with his boss who went on to extol the virtues of their wonderful drain cleaner. Seeing I wasn't convinced in the slightest he took an empty coffee cup from behind the Box Office counter then poured some of his cleaner in it. He then asked me for a pair of scissors and said "watch this" before cutting off the bottom 2 inches of the salesman's tie and depositing it in the cup where it fizzed, smoked and disappeared. Very impressive but I still remember the look of total shock on the salesman's face as his boss cut his tie up - he obviously wasn't expecting it. Didn't buy his drain cleaner though as we had about 20 gallons of the stuff in store anyway.

This is superb. I use it every time I get a blockage, it's never let me down.

It's let me down several times. I used it a few days ago. It may have helped a bit but not much.
It's not much use if the sink is well and truly blocked, in my experience, but it can help, if it's just a bit sludgy in the pipes.

My bath waste gets absolutely chokker with it. A lot snags in the plughole, but a lot goes down the pipe and then collects at the end where it disgorges into the hopperhead. Sometimes it forms a plug at the bottom of the downpipe.

Sink and bath strainers cost a couple of quid and save a lot of grief.

For the OP, you want a long metal coil. Put it down the sink plughole and twist.

Our shower regularly gets blocked, with a combination of long hair and soap. That’s what comes of sharing a house with 3 women.... my hair’s not long enough to block anything!

Every couple of months, I lift out the plughole (there’s a removable trap thing under it), stick down a bit of bent wire, twist around, and pull out something the size of a mouse....
hair as in hair - or do you mean when you get a shave? I can't imagine shavings blocking anything up, and I'm sure hair shouldn't be becoming detached when having a bath.
Hair off my scalp, the shower is over the bath. The stuff that drapes itself over the spokes in the plughole I fish out with the tip of a scriber, the rest I clear by dismantling the pipes. I've just renewed the pipes, the bits exposed to the sun outside had gone all brittle.
