That's a bit of a harsh nickname I think. I really like SD, he has a wealth of experience and knows what he's talking about. He's also quite nice to listen to.

Well, it is the one he himself adopted.

Spitting Image gave Davis the interesting nickname, if memory serves me right he was called the nugget in snooker circles.

I used to like Big Break, 'pot as many balls as you can,' Virgo was the star of that show.

I've no interest in watching Paddy McGuiness on it though, considering what's happened to Top Gear and Question of Sport I'm surprised he's been allowed anywhere near a presenting job again, he must have some real dirt on someone high up at the BBC. 😂

Murphy think much of the format should be adopted too. I imagine a few extra time allowances could be made available for the bigger tournaments too. The currently, fairly stupid, Matchroom League could be morphed too.

I don’t think we need a shot clock in the world championship.

The really long frames are quite rare and proper safety play is a real skill.

it’s all a bit rich considering his coach is Peter Ebdon.

This framed was quite deliberate time wasting. Maybe the ref should have the ability to call out this type of stuff. Ebdon was just playing to deliberately annoy O’Sullivan.

Maybe that should be a few exceptions.
But the ability to near guarantee a best of 9 match lasting only 2 hours is a win all round.
I did however notice a sense of shallowness so maybe big semis and finals could revert to the classic format.

I couldn't even watch that again, it's utterly cringeworthy. Ebdon was always my least favourite player. He managed to be boring, arrogant and slow all at the same time. And I'm a firm "no" for shot clocks. Long frames with lots of safety play are part of the game and a part that I enjoy (unless someone is deliberately playing slowly). I can see some people wanting the game to come in line with today's shorter attention spans, but I don't think it would add any value.

Shot clocks have their place, I'd compare it to cricket where the one day matches are like snooker with a shot clock, and test matches are the proper tournaments.

Personally I'd rather watch a match without a shot clock.
