Why oh why did he cue from the cushion, there was so much room to put his hand on the table? Twitchy match ball and he leaves so much distance for the cue to travel and increases the risk. Feel for the guy, felt like this year was his big chance

That was no fix. Allen would give his every penny and the shirt off his back to win the world championship. Unless someone has played in a competitive match, no matter how near the bottom of the food chain the particular competition is, it is impossible to understand how hard it is to stop your arm and legs trembling and your brain from scrambling on a vital shot.

No chance was that a fix. As I said above, he cued way too far from the ball. When you leave that much distance for the cue to travel, with so much pressure, if you are just a fraction off when delivering the cue you will miss.
