I find Marathon plus tyres really heavy so use Marathons that I just lined with Kevlar instead (the plus's have the extra rubber rim). I'll also join the chorus calling for regular tyre picking sessions to check for gravel and glass gradually sinking in over a few days. I use a set of slanted tweezers when checking tyres over.

been running gp 4 seasons for a few days nearly as quick as gators....but grip grip and more grip me like

Like some others mentioned I also use marathon plus and gatorskin and find them both excellent for puncture resistance and not bad for rolling.

As winter draws on you usually get a few more punctures than normal.
