So, there's a new syndrome for being a paranoid crazy b*tch now...

Agreed Risex, the original piece is very hard to justify, but tbere is a hint of a wish to inform in it, compared to the metro.
MissTF as a manager, a friend, and as a boyfriend I have dealt with many people who just need empathy, understanding and openess. As individuals and groups we all do this every day. I have no idea why we tolerate a lack of those gifts in our media.

If it were a real mental illness it would be a sickening article, but it's not. It's a bird who has fully justified her actions to herself because her bloke had actually cheated on her, and because he is allowing her to behave like a controlling nutjob. Othello Syndrome my ar*e.

Whilst I know nothing about Othello syndrome in all honesty, this sort of behaviour is very much part of mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and anything involving paranoid delusions.

I have behaved... not as badly as this, but my god, find my friends gets used a lot... And I'm not proud of that because it means I'm losing the battle and also that my husband is having a horrible time, which is awful.

Sometimes it's very difficult to stop your brain running away with you and suddenly 2 + 2 = 5,000,000,000,000 to the power of 6.

Whether or not this mental illness or spousal abuse, it shouldn't be in the paper for our entertainment. As someone has said, if this was a man and a woman, it wouldn't be and I suspect if the couple looked different it wouldn't be either.

It's nothing more than a bad relationship, if they had the sense to split up (or consider relationship counselling) then they'd probably benefit and become normal people again. I've seen plenty females (and males) act like nutjobs in a relationship and who miraculously act normal again when they remove themselves from the bad situation. Pretty sure they weren't all mentally ill.

It's no coincidence that her boyfriend, Steve, is white and wears black.

Insensate jealousy is quite common, particularly in this anxious age. We give our lives to a partner, and fear the humiliation of being cheated on. This is an extreme example of course, but I hope the woman in question is able to get help as it is unfair on her partner and damaging to both of them.

And despite what Jeremy Kyle tells us, lie detector tests are a load of rubbish, so over time it's virtually guaranteed that a false positive or negative will emerge.

Forgive me if I don't give your views on mental illness much credence.

I absolutely agree.

But 'nutjob' is a pejorative term for the mentally ill, is it not?
Did you even read my post? People can act like nutjobs, people can be peanuts, women can be nasty controlling bitches... if you want to think everything is a derogatory term relating to mental illness then let's just ban all words...
It's a bit like that rubbish 'Embarrassing Bodies' where we are led to believe that people who are so embarrassed about their illness or something, that they go on the tv to tell the whole country -
Except that some of the people on that program are only there because they have exhausted every other avenue and simply have no where left to turn and no other options to get the treatment they need.

Erm, what? So they're not just GP's on that show? They do things doctors can't do, like some kind of miracle workers? Hmmm.
