No I aint getting involved in the old dayglo vs camo gear debate ! This is something I noticed
t'other day watching a guy ride past. He was wearing a red [not pink I admit] jacket and I assume thought he would stand out a bit [so did I TBH] but as I watched he was just swallowed up in the gloom.
Wear what you want [it's up to you] but if you do decide to "go colourfull" remember to check if that pretty jacket actually DOES stand out.
One other thing, more for the begginers out there really, a lad on a dark bike wearing dark kit pedaled up the road and he stood out like a beacon, simply because he had a [looked like a cheapo LED type] light. Surrounded by a black hole, ie him, it REALLY did it's job. I could still see him for nearly half a mile. Not sure how well it would work in a major city with hudreds of car lights, street lights etc but if your a bit farther out "in the sticks" it seems a fair idea on these miserable gloomy winter days. I might have two at the back though, just in case.
