Anyway back to my install , early days granted but I’m defo seeing my consumption from the grid reducing ?! Let’s see what spring brings on , April/May are apparently the best months up here .
I've been able to get our usage from 4.30 til 00.30 down to less than 5 % of total demand. So it's almost all off the off peak electricity or solar.
The bills should be a lot cheaper in future.
Still not enough day light for when the sun is shining , face SE and panels split did hit just over 3kW at one point today of the panels . However it is Feb, still winter . So not all bad managed two washes and the dishwasher and only hit 7kW imported thus far ! Batteries got to 50% but now drained lol ! However that’s what they are for![]()

Do the grid still pay you for this surplus energy ?No.
Any surplus energy goes back into the grid. There is no (legal or safe) way to connect up your system to your neighbour's system and transfer electricity to them.
Yes - via your outgoing supplier, which may or may not be the same as your incoming supplier (individual households don't normally have a contract with the grid).Do the grid still pay you for this surplus energy ?
So are you are saying there's a law that forbids you safely connecting an extension lead from your outlet to a neighbouring
property ?

I should know better than to question a civil servant. It really is sod all to do with the greedy energy cabal what you do
with your own surplus energy. I'm always having baths in my neighbours house I.m saving a fortune 0o
A key would be very handy. One of these days I'm going to lose y grip and slip off the drain pipe. I could always sue themDo they regret giving you that spare key for emergencies?
