I have no time for this sort of person. My OH was cycling home from work past the local tempory accomodation for families waiting to be rehoused, only to have some little kid throw an egg at her. Little did he realise that we lived next door!! the way some people behave is unbelievable and im glad no harm came to you.

Oh no, that sounds awful-hope your ok and not shaken up too much,I know i would be.
Hopefully they pick on the wrong person next time and get a damn good kicking-its all they deserve.
Must admit I give gangs of kids a WIDE berth as i dont trust them-alone they'd be cowards but infront of mates tend to turn into "Shaun of the dead" extras.;)
Have a virtual hug and a choccie and dont let the ba****d get to you.
Oh, and defo report the scumbag. xxxxx

Report it to the police, even if nothing can be done, no-one identified etc, it will be valuable intelligence for them to send resources to the area and get in their faces, sorry, engage the youth of the community. If you can identify the scum involved do so, and stand up to them.

Grrrr it's so sickening! :tongue::biggrin:
I hope the nasty little gits get what's coming to them.
Round here they seem to likejumping out into the middle of the road in front of oncoming cyclists. I would only swerve to avoid bike damage

That is annoying and sad, I largely avoid it by looking like more trouble than its worth but I did get a Chav cross from the pub to the Newsagents after he had obviously had a few beers, he made a deliberate attempt to block me, little turd in a cap, roll neck with chains so i just stopped and said "After you mate" with no hint of aggro, he felt foolish because of my disarming reaction and went "Oh yeah, er cheers mate" and I pedaled off slowly and said "You do look a right daffodil with that chain round your neck" ;)

Charming. So next time he encounters a cyclist he will probably abuse them, push them off or try to do so or even assault them. You were in control of the situation and had the moral high ground then you had to go and spoil everything by the comment at the end. So he is now another person, chav or not, with a negative view of cyclists. Absolutely brilliant.

Regardless of the other comments, I thought it was brilliant. =)

Sounds like the guy was already the sort to abuse cyclists, since that's what he obviously intended to do to J4CKO. I don't think a remark like that is going to make much difference. It's all very well to try and hold the moral high ground, but sometimes you just forget.

Anyway, it sounds like the remark was true...

You are probably right, but I couldnt resist, hopefully he will think twice based on getting a mauling on his fashion sense.

Its not in my nature to be passive and get walked on, also I think if cyclists are too much of a push over, and people like above can guarantee they dont get a reaction when they abuse us then they will continue to see us as an easy target, any sniff of a risk and turds like that will avoid it, they only react to easy targets.

He probably took it as a compliment - tell him he looked smart and normal to insult him!

Sympathies to PP - not nice and I agree with those who think you should report it to the police
