I'm not sure why, because it has absolutely no connection with anything I know of, but it is still a tear jerker

What about anyone else ?

I think I must have changed emotionally once I had my 2 sons because I find two little boys really hard hitting. When I told my wife this she thought I was some kind of freak until I told her to sit down and listen to the words and story, then she nearly burst out in tears.
The other two songs that nearly make me cry every time now I am a father are Cats in the Cradle (Harry Chapin or Ugly Kid Joe but I prefer Harry's version) and Dance with my Father by Luther Vandross.

Am I an emotional wreck?

Ouch, how could I possibly have forgotten that! It is undeniably the most emotive song I've ever heard, made all the more pertinent because the great love of his live had just passed away when he recorded it and he joined her very soon after indeed.

One more Morricone. This is The Ecstasy of Gold from the film The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Music also featured on the health lottery adverts. The soprano is Susanna Rigacci and you either love her or hate her wailing like a cat on fire. Me......I love her :

I wasn't a parent when Eric Clapton suffered that terrible tradgedy but now I am I don't know how he found the strength to create and release that song. I guess if you are a song writer and musician it is a big part of how you express your emotions.
