Sorry guys, I have done it again.

I don't understand why you left the station either.

However tell your neighbour from me that telling someone who has gone into a police station to report something to go away again and phone up instead is a horrendous 'bat' and she should be ashamed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again Matt. Be careful, one day you are going to get hurt. If you have a tossed behind you, you have no control over them. Best to silently realise they're a tosser, and let them pass when safe to do so. Once they're in front, there's little they can do to place you in danger.

Positive riding, primary positioning and the like ONLY work to keep you safe if the drivers around are normal, competent and courteous - which the vast majority are. If they are dangerous, careless drivers then sometimes primary positioning and positive riding might make things worse - just let them pass.

Problem is, you should really only be having these problems once in a blue moon - surely the population of Prestatyn can't be skewed that far off the national average of driving standards!

Wot he said! If I challenged or retaliated to every close-pass/potential left hook/people pulling out in front of me/beep/lewd comment I got commuting through Camden I'd never get to work! Having had a bloke drive a car at me then get out and threaten to smack me just for not cycling in the door zone round Regents park I would definitely agree with the pull in and let the pricks pass you philosophy - you're much safer with them in front. Luckily he drew the line at hitting girls, with his fists at least.

Works for me and I have the real thing. Two full sleeves.

Actually it doesn't... it's bollocks. It makes no difference.

You'd be surprised. I was wearing a set, and went up to a BMW driver to ask why he'd beeped me just past pc world on the a21 towards catford. There was no confrontation or anything, and the first time I spoke to him friendly and with a smile, he just took off like a flash, went through two red lights, and eventually in the right turn lane at the Lewisham railway bridge, where he went through another red and veered left to go straight ahead. Each time he went through lights he did it to get away from me.

I'd go with MrP Matt, let us see.

We can advise.

TBH Matt, get with the local clubs and start racing - haven't you got a new circuit in Rhyl for road racing - if you don't know, do it.

Rise above it Matthew, rise above it.

Dont get mad, get even.

Instead of getting angry, keep your cool. Restrict any insulting retorts, keep it witty. Make sure *you* have the last laugh.

I think the best approach is to treat everyone driving as part of their vehicles as part of their machines. Don't bother humanising them even if they are sticking their fingers up at you as you only risk getting wound up by it and potentially getting into a pointless argument.

I take it you have thrown away your encyclopedia and didn't notice when Wikipedia was taken off line, as you have someone to tell you anything about everything in your house.

Got it in One !

Matthew, i have a theory...

What gear do you cycle around in?

You are about 17? A thin, skanky 17 y.o?

This thought struck me...

"The only hope you have, is to accept the fact that a significant proportion of the general public are cockwombles, and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you'll be able to function as a cyclist's supposed to function."

(with apologies to Lt. Ronald Speirs of Band of Brothers).

You know Matthew_T, last time you bullied an OAP into submission, this time you met someone who stood up to your aggression, he was bigger than you so you did the sensible thing and ran.

One day though Matthew_T, you will meet someone just like you.... Scrawny, angry, always looking for the last word.... and you will think you can take him.....

Then BAM!!!! You start slapping each other in a most comical fashion and end up on you tube for the amusment of others. ^_^

You need to chillax and think "meh, it happens" as opposed to "OMFG!!!! *seething rage* You just did wuuuuud?!?!?!"

I'm also going to be slightly annoying and ask whether it might not be a good idea to leave the cam behind for a few weeks?

Only if he's sure that having the camera adversely affects his behaviour. I think he should keep it with him and remember that his words and actions are recorded too.

I believe (maybe wrongly) that if I'm involved in an incident that involves the police, courts etc. it won't just be the incident that comes under scrutiny, it will be the whole clip and possibly all the clips on the camera at the time. I could be completely in the right when it comes to the incident I'm complaining about, but if there's something five minutes previously where I'm cycling like a fool and abusing motorists that is going to count against me.

Well I hadnt had any incidents before this one. It was the first, and only one of the day.
