is it as bad as the Brighton ride?

It's a good ride I only remember the hill into Brentwood mainly for avoiding the odd stray drunk staggering in the fog. I'd love to have done it but got knocked back for annual leave  you've done the Dun Run you will be fine with this.

On the new ti bike? the one that's very fast downhill?

Not so new anymore about 4 years old. Also it will depend on the weather if wet then I'll be on the steel genesis with mudguards. But both are fairly fast downhill but the Ti one particularly so.

Faster downhill than you were from Carter Bar to Jedburgh?

Yes that was the hill with the hairpins at the top IIRC? I liked that hill! I never quite hit 50mph on that hill or on that trip I think 48 was highest on the road to wick where I servery miss judged a big left hand bend at the bottom of a very big hill, fortunately nothing coming the other way. On the Ti bike I've been 50mph+ on a couple of times. Helps having 52x11 on it where the other on is only 50x11. Normally run out of hill before hitting max speed around here though. That all being said I'm well out of practice and quite unfit having only done 10 miles since the Ride 100 in August so won't be going full downhill lunatic on this ride!

Ouch! Galileo, Leaning Tower of Pisa ... !

https://www.thenakedscientists.com/articles/questions/fatter-cyclists-faster-downhill

"Strictly speaking that's only true if you're in a vacuum. On a bike you're far from it. The big issue with the bike is the aerodynamic drag.

If there were no aerodynamic drag then the fat person or a thin person would end up accelerating down a hill at the same rate. The point is that with the fat person, assuming that they're not incredible wide, the aerodynamic drag is going to be less significant in terms of their falling down the hill than for the thin person. Ultimately, a thin person's going to end up going slower than a fat person. So if you're in a race then you want to minimise that aerodynamic drag and of course the downside to being fat is that there's always going to be a hill on the other side of the downhill, meaning that you've got to put a lot of work in to get up the other side. There's always a catch!"
