Anyone know of a place to get Shimano spare parts. I'm after the lever part (ie the carbon brake spoon, not the mechanical inner or gear shifting part) of shimano 6700 Ultegra STi's. I can only seem to find complete unit's for sale (at £275 per pair) and was wondering if it's possible to get individual parts to repair units. The brake levers are broken in half following a crash and it would seem better to repair than bin them for a new pair.

go to your LBS - if they are available, they will order them via Madison, the UK importer.

Yes, but expect to pay over the odds and wait for ages.

My first instinct is to pull up the Shimano tech document for your STI. This will break down every part and give you the part number you need. Then Goodle the part number as 'Shimano XXXXXXX' and you'll find loads of online shops offering it much cheaper.

Petra Cycles and SJS are good for individual bits.

EDIT: Pick the tech doc for your STI from here:

Madison are offering the levers at £139 each, I think it will just be cheaper to order two new STi's at £250 for the pair (off wiggle with 12% platinum discount + an extra 10% discount)

Can you change the part yourself or know a LBS who will change the part ?
When my RH sram shift lever bent i knew you could buy spare parts and i had even seen a how to guide to take out the whole assembly but the LBS just quoted me for a new lever .

In the end i bought a second hand pair from a cycle forum for half the price of what 1 new lever would have cost.My advice would be to buy a pair and sell what you do not need on , even broken parts go for a good price on ebay .

I ended up keeping my old parts as spares , the lever works on mine luckily as it is aluminium lever i managed to bend it back and it works although it does not look as nice
Good job i did as a member of my CC shifter broke and i am about to lend it to him untill he can get a replacement.
