Now try 50 or 60 miles one one. I was fine up to about 30, then it was like Vlad the Impaler had popped in for tea.
I've tried this Charge Spoon saddle out tonight again on a longer ride tonight and I'm afraid it's bad news. By the time I got home I felt really sore , uncomfortable and somewhat numb. The next option as suggested by @Elswick Cotterpin is to try my old saddle off the Peugeot. It doesn't look as nice as the others but I've always found it very comfortable on long journeys ,and at the end of the day I would prefer to be able to enjoy my bike more than it just looking visually good. When I took the old saddle off the Peugeot I was pleasantly surprised to it was of a quality make It's an Italian San Marco saddle which surely must of been an upgrade at some point on my cheap Peugeot. I'll give it another try tomorrow night and see how I get on with it. You wouldn't think that such a benign subject such as a saddle can make or break a pleasant ride. One thing I have learnt is how personal a saddle can be to each and every one of us in comfort terms.

I managed to do a 75 mile ride yesterday using the old Peugeot saddle with no complaints whatsoever with it's comfort. I would be no way of done this with the other saddles. Recovering today though with sore aching legs lol :-)

I'm glad you have achieved a comfortable solution.

However, if you still want a saddle that suits the look of your (modern) bike simply go and get you backside properly measured at eg Trek or Specialised stockist and they'll sort you out with the right saddle that fits you (they usually have money back comfort guarantees too).
