Good point - and people you don't know shouting "clear" at junctions are not to be trusted...

Especially as there's two meanings of it in use: "Clear" usually means that the caller thinks the junction is clear of other users or clear to proceed, but at least some use it to mean merely that the caller has cleared the junction!

It could be worse: "car up" has at least four possible meanings

Well guys . Have completed my first ever sportive today . The causway coast sportive. 35miles In 2h41m. It rained heavy from start to finish roads flooded in places .was like a drowned rat from the start .
They said it was mostly flat with a few hills but they must have Benn looking at another route lol hills galore it was but I throughly enjoyed it and would do it again without the rain of course.

Shout "ON YOUR RIGHT" at every opportunity, .

And stay on the left when you're coasting, chatting to your boyfriend, not overtaking, etc. to avoid hearing the same yelled at you.
