How about a social ride along the mainly traffic free route from Whitstable to Ramsgate ,taking in the harbour views of Whitstable ,Herne Bay ,Margate and ,Ramsgate . . Distance about 27 miles .

The subject is thrown open for discussion ,folks .

A bit of the scenery on this ride

This is a fairly regular ride for me (albeit in the opposite direction)
First HS1 of the day down to Canterbury, followed by ~18 or so traffic free miles along lanes to Sandwich, Cycle path to Ramsgate where breakfast is had at Miles bar, and then follow the coastal path through the resorts, ports and harbours to Whitstable, catching an HS1 home, either from there or from Faversham if I fancy the marsh experience.
Around 60 miles in total. (Excluding my home to STP bit)
One thing to keep your eye on on this ride is the wind forecast.
You'll be doing two very distinct directions of the compass on this ride.
You need the wind to be your friend, or not there at all - I've known people to abandon on account of unfavourable wind.
Fortunately, the route offers plenty of rail-bail options.

ETA is that Botany Bay in your OP, sotkayak?

Weather, work and the thousand natural shocks that cycling plans are heir to permitting, I may ride up to Whitstable, camp over night, and make it into bit a of a mini tour.
Mmmm, now am Deal based that's worth a thought....
