I did not know that. Did you know my brother lives in Whitstable?

How about a social ride along the mainly traffic free route from Whitstable to Ramsgate ,taking in the harbour views of Whitstable ,Herne Bay ,Margate and ,Ramsgate . . Distance about 27 miles .

The subject is thrown open for discussion ,folks .

A bit of the scenery on this ride

The Captain Digby sits atop there, just to the right iirc.

Sounds very good. I can extend my ride home too.

Will mark the date on the calendar.

@Salty seadog one to consider?

Sounds good to me.

Weatherspoons do often reside in spledid buildings.

As we're talking mostly traffic free I asume we mean along the apron and sea wall. My advise would be there are a lot of shells thrown up from the sea, although I have not suffered one, punctures may occur.I've only cycled it once but a friend had a mtb tyre ripped open on them. Happy to be assured by the more local who cycle it regularly.

Have cycled it a good few times on a road bike with no problems.

Another regular rider, without issues.
Does a sheared seatpost bolt count?
(LBS in St.Peters, Broadstairs sorted it...)

The apron can get wet at high tide if sea is rough but there is a cliff top road that runs parallel with much of the route between Minnis Bay and Margate. High tide is 10 am at Margate on the 6th May.
